Over in the Garden, Peggy asked us to write a poem about an animal. Here is our prompt:
Take this animal to a place you are not in every day. It can be a real place or an imaginary place at any time past, present or future. Tell us about this place through the eyes, ears, nose, skin (or whatever) of your animal.
The lady at the farmer's market has peacocks. This is her pet Blue and he loves dog food.
Blue's Clues
I don't want to shop
nothing will fit me
Love red-my favorite color
I like prints
polka dots, stripes
I want a cart
ooooh, I like scarves
I want to be a Chic Geek
Mean girls lurk aisle 10
I have a nice caboose, but
so what
beauty doesn't rule
Chic Geeks know this
So
Mean
Ass clowns
Rank
Twig status
Lolipop heads staring
Whatcha lookin' at
Oh, what is Juicy Couture
and do I want it?!
Who is Victoria and what is
her secret?!
Oh, what is Juicy Couture
and do I want it?!
Who is Victoria and what is
her secret?!
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I have a lot of eyes
YOLO
my mains tell me
Let's get
dog food
I love Kibbles n' Bits
Let's get
dog food
I love Kibbles n' Bits
Ella, as you promised and it does not disappoint me in delayed anticipation. Yes, this such a great animal for it seems to have a thousand eyes...I imagined reading this your closet fill of prints... all the ermines and vair, jaguar spots for polka dots, and calicoes of Faberge, Twany lions, Zebra's standing vertical to hide behind the reeds and twigs.. for a guy its not Victoria's secret sents but they put cinnamin thru the room the same effect as on women, chocolate... Three wide bottom ladies wait by a crossing light, I catch up. One says, I can live without my boze, I can live without my cigarettes, but I can't live without my chocolate! I laugh and they turn around saying...yeah, he knows where its at. Magnificent the caboose that brings home the speeding sunset train.
ReplyDeleteL. Edgar you are so fun-I love how you shared your thoughts and where this took you~ So fun! YOU should write a poem with what you shared :D
DeleteWhat fun, Ella. I really enjoyed this. "Who is Victoria and what is her secret?" (And my correct link is on the Toads site now.)
ReplyDeleteLuv, K
Oh, thank you Kay!
DeleteI will be by..I wondered what happened~
Hugs to you
The beauty of a peacock is unmatched.
ReplyDeleteI read they call his tail a blanket of stars...how cool is that!
DeleteI agree with you!
I love the voice you gave to the peacock. How funny that it likes dog food...smiles.
ReplyDeleteI know it...it kinda makes you rethink their beauty doesn't it. The reality of the mean girl and her Kibbles n' Bits ;D
DeleteThank you Mary
Beautiful share Ella ~ I love how you gave him/her a clear voice and he/she loves dog food, delightful ~
ReplyDeleteBlue this real peacock eats dog food...not kidding! Isn't that funny~

oh, such delight, I love people with unusual pets :)
ReplyDeleteThis lady is a character! When I bought Rhubarb she wanted to know what I was making. I told her pie...she wanted a piece~ Strawberry Rhubarb Pie rocks...have you had it?!
DeleteA great character you've made! Next comes the animation for this scatter brained fashionista! Cool.
ReplyDeletelol! Yes, and it figures she is gorgeous-the profile fits doesn't it~
DeleteThank you Susan~ I loved your worm...wormy needs his or her own show :D
Grew up near a house that had peacocks... their beauty is over rated in my opinion as they make nasty mean (and loud) neighbors. :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard this is true, too! Mean girls and boys....sad isn't it!
DeleteOh, I agree with Susan. She could be a cartoon star.
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous? The only famous peacock I know the TV peacock ;D
DeleteThank you
So cute! The title reminded me of when my daughter was little-we loved watching Blues Clues together!
ReplyDeleteSherry our daughter's are the same age! Yes, we loved watching
DeleteBlue's Clues at our house too~ Remember Magenta and I loved baby Paprika ;D Fun to remember....oh, no the music is now in my head-lol

Yes, teens do that-keep us up with the current slang. I so want to say hip, but my daughter sighs big when I use that word-lol! I remember hearing it and my daughter filling me in. You Only Live Once ;D
DeleteI fear I have dealt with ass clowns. I am not scared of clowns, only the mean teenage girls-now grown women-who love to remind us we do not conform. I had a room full of them remind me once I was not all that. I was the fat girl who got skinny and then hate paraded on my ass. They preferred me fat-yes, that memory still lingers. My junior high years sucked.
They really are beautiful birds. I enjoyed this.
ReplyDeleteI know I so wanted Blue to dance for me show me his gown of stars!
DeleteNo such luck~ I have heard they are kinda mean-figures mean girl of the animal kingdom. Thank you~
My daughter bought this T-shirt at Target-I love it~ Thank you :D
ReplyDeleteThank you for this fun poem from the peacock!! They wander wild in the neighborhood my husband grew up in. They were escapees gone wild from some big gardens nearby. They make a great creature for poetry!
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy,
DeleteThank you for this fun challenge! Escapees...oh, my-maybe they were looking for Target~ ;D
Love this creature Blue! So funny!
ReplyDeleteHi Humbird,
DeleteYes Blue is a drama queen-oh, we already knew that didn't we!
that was so much fun..and a good education on "teen slang" of which I am terribly out of touch with... :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Robert! I thought I would have a bit of fun~ :D
DeleteI had a blue parakeet once - Peppermint Patty! Loved her chatter, lovely tale! I hate shopping too and don't understand the importance of labels - or fashion for that matter! LOL
ReplyDeleteYolanda, I love the name-I bet she was gorgeous! I have a love hate relationship- I don t like pushy sales people
