LUNAR MAN
Lunar man collects running light
exposed magic torches paper heart with copper flames
shadow grams illuminate silver circus by night
Lunar man collects
Orange monarch captured by surrendering chains
wrinkle line of day scorched gold into blue line of flight
dark chamber filters optic quicksilver brains
Windows arch visible-pale white knight
riding n' discovering enchanted great plains
gardens of memories paint peacock of night
Lunar man collects

Kerry asked us to write a poem in honor of Christina Rossini her birthday is December 5th
Oh, I think I would like this lunar man....especially if he paints peacocks at night.
ReplyDeleteHe paints the white peacock-all those white eyes in a blue sea! Yes, Lunar man is a wise one-lol! Thank you Mary, I like him too~
DeleteThe way you paint this is very nice.. A lunar man, just the name sounds nice.
DeleteHi Bjorn! Thank you~ I know I love the name-if you check the link you can see what an unique group of men this image represents!
DeleteA lovely rondel, with a sparkling variety of intricate, bright images. The links were fascinating, also. Enjoyed it much Ella.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joy! I had fun, but I guess I faltered a bit on form~ I loved the mysteries that align when we happen upon words! Thank you so much~
DeleteWe were both thinking of the plains with this. Weird! I liked this very much.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shay! Yes, I think we both were time traveling. Funny, my husband just finished my arrow today..no seriously. It is a wooden one with chalkboard paint~ Maybe in honor or your poem I will add some orange paint to trim the edges ;D Thank you~
Deleteha. lunar man is quite intriguing, a bit surreal of a cascade...tight images within ella...glad you are not a weasel...or ferret...ha.
ReplyDeleteYes, those men are a select group! I happened upon their story and decided to check it out. You are always fun Brian-I am more an owl. I can't seem to be cured of my night owl tendencies. Lunar man and I see eye to eye ;D Thank you~
DeleteI really enjoyed this...your image choices pop!!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration with that camera and great job with the Roundel!
One thing I caught before I started is that the second rhyme comes from the last word of your refrain so in your case it would be rhymes for collects. At least that is what I gathered from the Roundel link on the post today....
I came back to apologize, Ella...I'm sorry, I just realized that emailing you about the form would have been proper etiquette probably!?
DeleteFeel free to edit or delete my comment if you want...I didn't want to step on toes, (at all).
Much ♥ TT
It is fine Hannah! I chose to do my poem based on these details
Deletehttp://www.volecentral.co.uk/vf/roundel.htm
So, my roundel has this form abaR bab abaR more of a rondeau.
I might try, try again on Monday!
Yes, I see the error of my ways-thanks Hannah!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous array of words and images, Ella. Your poetry always transports me to another place.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kerry! I did deviate from the form...so I would give it another go for the open garden~ I did enjoy your prompt! Thank you so much~
Deletethis is beautifully done....love the imagery...
