Fickle coastal Bay
weather always teases moods
whips her gray skirt wide
Foghorn boy's loudly cheer- her slip
a Periwinkle vision

Spring's difficult birth
bursts through frigid winter's snow
song of spring a caw
plumed in feathered purple
yellow beak sings an opera

Over in the Garden we had a challenge to write a Tanka. I struggled with mine and hope to try again!

You do not seem to be struggling with this form, Ella. Each one sparkles in its own way. I love the personification of the first. You definitely seem to be looking at each scene from within the frame of a tanka.

Mushrooms and mountains and ... I was impressed with the first and by the end I was overwhelmed. If these were in a book, I'd read one and wait a while for the next and the next and ... as if they were fantastic truffles.

DeleteEveryone more beautiful than the nest. That first one had me laughing because every time its windy I say to my wife...this is good skirt weather...lol. I guess we never grow up. A whirlwind of tactile sensation in these Ella, Loved them!
