Fireblossom tells us:
Native Americans believed that each creature possessed its own "medicine", and that this power, or mojo, could be transferred. I want to take that idea a big step further. Suppose you woke up one morning, and your body was just the same as always, but that the spirit of an animal, or bird, or some other creature, had taken you over from within.
"One more thing. Minimum of seven lines, which means no haiku. Please link a NEW poem written for this challenge. Thanks, and enjoy! I'll be around to read everyone's entry. Now stretch those imaginations!"
wHoooooo
clock chimes 12-at my cherry wood desk
can't type fingers feel odd-
can't type fingers feel odd-
I always wanted to live in a tree house
eyes wide open, silently I glide towards kitchen-need a little snack.
Moonlight bathes the kitchen counter
funny my wardrobe lately is the color of tree bark-strange
My head feels odd like a spinning top
How can I hear the TV on up in the FROG
My nails grew fast
white tufted hair sticking straight up near my crown
must go outside the moon is singing
can you hear her tune?
How can I hear the TV on up in the FROG
My nails grew fast
white tufted hair sticking straight up near my crown
must go outside the moon is singing
can you hear her tune?
hmmm, my intuition says
must visit Lolamouse
must visit Lolamouse
Thanks Fireblossom-great challenge!
oOoo! I adore owls! This is so cool, what you've done here, though I feel that I must now run over to Lolamouse's place and protect her! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne thing it's easy to miss...I said MINIMUM seven lines, so it doesn't have to be *exactly* seven lines. I only mention it in case you wanted to play around further with being an owl!
Damn, I think I need reading glasses, lol!
DeleteYes, Lolamouse needs protection ;D
Thank you~
oOoo, you DID decide to expand it, and its fantastic. You totally got into the experience of becoming an owl. I love the oh-gosh-look-at-my-nails! stuff. It's perfect.
DeleteThank you Shay! This was so much fun~ Everyone must of warned Lolamouse she hasn't stopped by, lol ;D
DeleteThanks for the fun!
I will be hurting on Monday. I have to transform into a Morning Lark~
Gosh that photo is amazing! Breath-taking. I love your playful take on life as an owl - the desire to live in a tree house, the bark coloured wardrobe (I could totally work that!) and wakefulness in moonlight.
ReplyDeleteI know right! I can rock the bark colored wardrobe, too, lol!
DeleteYes, I do love my night owl moments ;D
It was fun...I might do another one!
I will be by to read everyone's.
I tried before-blogger issues!
This made me smile, Ella. What a charmer. .
ReplyDelete;D Thank you Mary!

DeleteUh-oh, Lolamouse better watch out! Glad Shay is going to protect her.
ReplyDeleteGreat fun here, Ella, well done, and the photo is perfect for your poem. (I've always had a thing for owls.)
K
I know Lolamouse doesn't even know I am a threat-oh, dear!
Deletelol, I thought it would be fun to include another Toad ;D
Kay, me too!
Owls are a great totem. Love how you were able to write completely from the owl's perspective. Guess that was the challenge. lol. I sort of wavered I think with that part. Well done! Agree that the bark colored wardrobe was genius.
ReplyDeleteThank you Maggie! I had fun....thinking about how it might be. I hear owls every night I walk communicating! ;D thank you~
DeleteI'll be by...
I so got a kick out of this, though felt a little alarmed about Lolamouse...hee hee, you ARE a hoot!
